Happy almost Spring!
As we say in Boston, February was a ‘wicked’ cold month. And it seems we had a monster snowstorm every Friday! And after each snowstorm, temperatures rose to record-breaking highs only to be followed by an arctic freeze.

On weekends, I stayed busy inside, warm and snug, cooking an array of sweet treats. I adore fresh cherries when the deep ruby red fruit comes to market during the short whispering season. This month, I became fascinated with making cherry desserts, crisps, and pie! And fortunately, cherries are available frozen or canned at the grocery store.

And on frigid winter days, comfort food is a must.

Optimism and love were also in the air in February at my house. We began having small casual gatherings with friends. Sometimes an impromptu party is fabulous. The food was delicious and simple to make, leaving me time to socialize with friends. I’ve missed the interaction with people and have vowed to spend more time with my friends.

And I used my new cheese board from Anthropologie. I love their delightful home furnishings. If you are not familiar with Terrain, I highly recommend going to Terrain.com.
Super Bowl food is a must!

The other day I received my David Austin Roses catalog, and turning each page, my heart stilled viewing the gorgeous array of roses. I don’t know how to resist ordering too many beautiful roses for my already cramped flower beds. The choices are endless!
And I love this idea; for my birthday last fall, a friend gifted me a David Austin Rosebush that will arrive for spring planting. How marvelous is that! To view the 2022 collection visit http://davidaustinroses.com and you’ll be addicted like me.

This harsh winter has infected me with an extreme case of spring fever affecting all aspects of my life. Not just gardening. I am freshening up my home, beginning with the laundry room. I know a laundry room isn’t exciting or sexy, like redoing a bathroom or kitchen. But it is essential to life to have a functioning laundry, and why not make it as luxurious as possible. So I order a new laundry basin complete with a new sink, faucet, and crisp white cabinet. My laundry room is not huge, and since space is an issue, extra cabinet storage is a plus. And I purchased a drying rack from Ballards Designs. I can’t wait for an updated laundry room that matches the rest of my home.
Hopefully, March’s weather is less erratic, and the early spring breezes warm my garden. My fingers are twitching, itching to put on the gardening gloves and get dirty. And for fabulous gardening gloves, nothing compares to Workswork. Beautiful, functioning gloves, helpful garden tools, and fun matching accessories for all your gardening needs. One must look stylish when gardening!

Enjoy!
